The best way of worshiping Lord Ganesha is through aartis and prayers to the God, which are generally performed in the morning and evening on those 10 days when the Ganesha idol is brought to the home. The first day of Ganesha Chaturthi is when people bring Ganesha's idol to their home, followed by worshipping him for the next 10 days, and on the last day the Ganesha idol is taken out and submerged in a big water body. He is the God of wisdom, power, prosperity and good fortune, and so devotees worship him with different Ganesh Aartis and mantras’ chanting. The festival is also known as Vinayak Chaturthi, as Vinayak means Ganesha or the remover of obstacles.
